The 2023 Contemplative Practices for Higher Education (CPHE) Conference offers an opportunity for those who enjoy contemplative practices or would like to learn more about them to gather to share new work and explore new methods across disciplines and domains. This would include teachers and professors, researchers, students, community members and contemplative practitioners. This gathering is sponsored by the Contemplative Higher Education Alliance for Research, Teaching, and Services (
C-HEARTS), Mid-Atlantic.
The 2023 conference welcomes new or experienced practitioners of meditation, contemplative movements such as yoga and t'ai chi, and a wide range of other practices, students, as well as professionals interested in academic pedagogy and integrating contemplative practices into their disciplines.
Radford University is the host of this gathering, under the leadership of Conference Co-Chairs
Gini Weisz, and
Alan Forrest, and the 2023 Conference Planning Committee.
This year, our conference will take place at two locations in the Roanoke area. We will convene on March 2-3 at the
Holiday Inn Roanoke Airport for the two-day academic conference portion of our gathering. Then we will convene at the beautiful
Selu Conservancy for a one-day contemplative practice retreat on March 4. A shuttle will be provided to take guests from the conference center hotel to the retreat center and back. Free parking will be available at both sites.

The Douglas Lindner Scholarship Fund- Established to provide scholarships to attend the conference for students, professionals and/or community members experiencing financial need or hardships.
